So unless you want to look it up every time you reboot your PC, we suggest you set up a static IP address using the steps below.

Once you're done with that, click OK on all the boxes and exit from the settings. Remember the IP address you type in here. This is the IP address we'll use to connect with other devices. If you forget it, open the Command Prompt, type in ipconfig and press enter.

With your static IP set up, you're now ready to set up Microsoft Remote Desktop on your Mac. To do this, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open System Preferences on your Mac and click on Sharing.

Step 2: Select Remote Login from the list of services.

Step 3: Click Edit next to Users.

Step 4: Select the user account you want to allow remote login for and click OK.

Step 5: In the Remote Login window, select the option that says Allow remote login from all users or select specific users only and enter the usernames in the text box.

Step 6: Click OK to close the window.
