One way to do this is by using the FortiClient VPN, which provides a secure and encrypted connection from your personal laptop. Step 1: Finding the VPN Client

The first step is to find the FortiClient VPN client software. You can access it by visiting a dedicated QMUL repository that can be found at "Do not download software from sources other than the official website.". From there, you can choose the relevant installation file for your operating system (Windows) and install it.

Step 2: Running the Installation Software

After choosing and running the required software installation file, you will be greeted with a welcome screen. Read and accept the terms and conditions by ticking the box and clicking "Next". Then, select the default file location and click "Install".

Once the installation is complete, you will see a completion screen. Click "Finish" to close the installer.

Step 3: Setting Up the Installed Client Software

Your laptop needs an active internet connection to establish a VPN connection to the QMUL network. You can find the installed FortiClient software in your Windows taskbar (or equivalent) as shown below, represented by the FortiClient shield.
